A Tear Fell

A Tear Fell

A Poem by Glo
"

All about hope after despair

"

A Tear Fell

A tear fell from the sky
It touched her lips
And quenched her thirst
In the desert of her life

The sun sent its rays
To warm the cold heart
That wanted to stop beating
In her empty chest

A flower bloomed
Before innocent eyes
And she beheld
The brushstroke of God

The wind blew
And whispered her name
Carrying her
To a familiar happy place

A seemingly random thought
Entered her mind
And she pondered the possibility
She could be reborn

Started off wonderful...
I liked the metaphor... "And quenched her thirst In the desert of her life." It is nice to read a poem that ends in hope. Thanks for sharing.

One word: whoa.

Simple and sweet. I'm sure I've read other poems very similar to this one before. The reason is that these same images (a tear, the sun, a flower) are some of the most commonly used. But in it's simplicity this poem uses them well, leaving an impact of hope.
