fate

fate

A Poem by ggubie

Why wouldn't fate,
let out paths cross.
Why would fate,
let us meet by accident,
but not bound to be
in each other's touch.

Why wouldn't fate,
help us in our ways
to be together.

All I ever hold on to
is the pillow,
who perceived all cries,
worries,
and love.

As I hold on to our
small, but treasured moments,
it made me realize,
you are naturally special,
with personalities so rare to find.

Which made you perfect in any way.
I remember special nights with you,
I remember imagining,
if I get to kiss you,
I'd kiss
as I wished you're mine.

The next time fate will let us meet again,
I swear to memorize all your features,
your soul.
The chances taken are treasured,
you're not here anymore,
but I will hold on to everything
the memories we've made.

"Small but treasured moments" -- what does that mean, really? What are you picturing as you write these vague boring words? You are floating along the surface of a well-used junky pond of sentiments that everyone uses to describe love, loss, heartbreak, blah-blah-blah. This writing needs a spicy injection of originality & specificity. SHOW ME what this feels like in terms that haven't been used a million times already -- "hold on to my pillow" - really? Is that how you show us tortured feelings? I'm sorry I can't be encouraging, even tho your writing is solid & well-constructed & expressive . . . I'm too distracted by the boring overused terms you use to describe EVERYTHING in love/life! Sometimes it's better if I don't review certain people becuz some poets are stuck in a love & heartache rut, which is not where I want to be. I tried reviewing your poems becuz you sent me a friend request, but this is why I get blocked quite a bit by new writers (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
