PrologueA Chapter by ggravendustEven GTA isn't this realistic. Or this dangerous. This is the story of a virtual reality game by the name of "Fourth Knights". The plot of the game is that a beast has turned up on the shores of the small, peaceful nation of Winghaven. It looks like nothing the citizens have ever seen before, and they're terrified. The main character was supposed to explore ocean and land alike and stumble upon the source, an enemy that the company refused to spoil the identity of. The game is... Immersive. It's not meant for home use yet, so they kept it at the ARcadium, the biggest virtual reality arcade in the nation, until its big premiere. The reason? Needles. The game functioned in a set of three pieces. Two bracelets and one pair of strangely shaped glasses. The bracelets were lined with small, painless needles with small refillable vials of necessary substances. The glasses were really to measure and read brainwaves, a surprisingly necessary part of the game. This technology would basically make you feel as if everything happening in game was absolutely real. It even had a feature that, even when completely immersed in the game, you could access the internet. The needles could inject you with minerals and vitamins and hydrate you enough to play a full 24 hours. It was a revolution, to say the least. Four beta testers went into the game first. They waited anxiously for a week, until the company announced they had given the go ahead to premiering the game to the public. The ARcadium was the only place it was available to play. The thousands of seats available were taken in less than an hour after launch. They wanted to do a 48 hour challenge to celebrate, so they were all hooked up to separate IVs to sustain them longer. They all started the game, and the auditorium fell dead quiet as they all were injected with the chemical that put them into the hypnotic state of gaming. One girl, known by her username 'Domiino', finds her spawn glitched. Instead of spawning in the common area with everyone else, she spawns in the same area as the beta testers. She isn't divided into a county like everyone else either. Her uniform is uniquely black and white, with no clues as to where she belongs. Suddenly, a new danger is on the horizon. There's no logout. © 2013 ggravendustAuthor's Note
