Building Good Legacies

This is about right attitudes

A good name is to be chosen rather than great wealth, good favor more than silver or gold.
(Proverbs 22:1, NET)

For some folks meeting new persons is a hobby. But, the memory of some friends isn't lovely at all. Little wonder, it is said that first impression matters. The issue of building good reputation can't be over emphasized. This is because we will be remembered either for the good or the bad we've done. The question then is, if really we must be remembered for something, while can't we make it a good one?

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
(Matthew 7:20, KJV)

Certainly, you are free to do as you want, but never feel bad if you are remembered for it. It's been noted that actions speak louder than words. So, I would rather suggest you think well before you act. It's just like handling temptations, the devil won't want you to consider the repercussions of his offers, he only let's you see the beautiful side of his offers. But, wisdom teaches us to carefully weigh the pros and cons of any thing before we delve into it. In other words, we should look before we leap.

It's important we note that building good legacies isn't about pretence. Oh! Yes. It's about being the real you and being known for it. But, if your real you isn't good then it's got to be replaced with something good. This isn't about mere new year resolutions, it requires a sincere submission to Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. After which you work on your character.

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Truly, character modifications might not be that easy, but its possible. We should all work towards improving our characters so that we can also improve on our individual reputation. It's nice if you are known for what you will be proud of and what society can praise you for. It even gets more interesting if your actions can put smiles on the face of God.
