Toilet

Toilet

A Poem by ggephart
"

We were writing persona poems for my creative writing class.

"

The problems of others,

I wash away.

The goldfish,

the engagement rings,

the vomit,

the narcotic filled plastic baggies,

the positive pregnancy tests,

the cigarettes,

the tampons,

the jury summons,

the secrets,

the embarassements,

the shame.

A lesser appliance would crack

under this constant shitstorm.

Yet, I persevere.

But who is there to hear my troubles,

when the nights are cold and lonely?

And the sink does not understand.

Mine has this admonition. "Put nothing in the toilet
unless it has been eaten first."
I sail a lot and our heads are pretty sensitive. None
of that crap goes in a toilet on a boat.
But getting back to yours. Toilet you have my
total sympathy.
Writer, you have my sympathy tooo.
Your writing is perfection , but your head is a mess.
