Out On The LakeA Poem by Healing StarThoughts of my Pop, he was a wonderful man, and is an Amazing Being who's here with Me NOW. Though his body rests with the dust. We'd always start Out, with High Hopes Thinkin' we'd Hook the Big One But by mid-afternoon it's Always the Same Wakin' from the Burn from the Sun Driftin' out on the Calm Waves It would always roll us to Sleep And as I remember those summer Days Well papa, it brings me to Weep The Starcraft always brought us Home Even when the Canopy was taken to the Sky And now it sits quiet and Alone And as I remember it just makes me want to Cry But too, it brings back my boyhood Smile As I remember you, out on the Lake You were always Happy all the While If we caught our catch or nothin' Take Even with the ol' nine horse 16 Footer On the Lake called Michigamme You were born on one end of Her And on the other was born Me About the only thing I have twas Yours Is that Starcraft, that I toed and never Road But it's 'bout the only thing I got twas Yours So how can I let, how can I let her Goed To you Pop, I wish we shared a Few More Of those Days, out on the Lake And many times when I look at Her dry Moored I Remember your Smile ...
