Squirrel Time

True Story with a touch of the Magical

I was at a Spiritual Retreat a invited quest for a short part of a 3 day my wife attended,  And part of what was going on for my part of the retreat was going inside to find our Spirit Totem Animal Guide.  And I was feeling really good about it, and I don't usually see things as much as just feel them. I don't remember seeing the Squirrel but feeling his presence, and I had a disappointment with it being squirrel.  I believe I have a Turtle as a Totem - the Time Keeper, but you know a Bear would have been cool, I'd be ecstatic with a Wolf, the Jaguar or Lion ... but Squirrel.  But anyway I shared it was squirrel and didn't think much of it we did at least one more thing and ended with dancing to some Bob Marley and another tune and I left the Retreat as they were going to eat raw amazing food.  But as I left and there was a gravel road that veered off the road into the little house on the river, like an alley - and in the road was a big squirrel standing straight up, with big bushy tail behind his head, and it was like I could hear him plainly but more through feeling that sound.  And he said hey man, what was that about.  And he said you really slammed all of us squirrels, really like thanks a lot man.  you know what I mean, this was about five years ago I'm remembering, and I remember thinking about that. And it was to teach me that whatever the guide that comes be grateful, they came no matter how insignificant our being might think they are, they are a part of this amazing living being that is all life.  So we really need to be Grateful for they have come who knows how far and just for you perhaps, in a moment to give you an impression that will touch you, but it can only happen if we are watching, being aware of all around us, and Listening, it's so, so important to be Listening, Today especially, we must stay open and keep our Heads on straight.  Okay- so Good Night John Boy ... we will continue as this thing unfolds before us, this thing we call the Life of a Human Being in the Day of The NEW Beginnings.
