Reason or No Reason

Whether we find a reason or not for what is going on around us, it really is finding ourselves that is most important.

I don't know the Reason

I've tried to understand through many Seasons

Why my Country has Fallen

Why know one hears the Children Callin'

I don't know the Reason

Hopin' one day I'll wake too ... just Teasin'

But I don't think it's gonna Happen

Just seems like everybody's Snappin'

I don't claim to know the Reason

I don't aim to be Pleasin'

But where did that American Dream Go

Like we've come to the End of a lousy Picture Show

I'll never say I knew the Reason

I feel I want to step into a different Season

I think I'll go up to my Mountain

I gotta go drink from my Fountain

Maybe One day I'll find the Reason

I'm sure it will be due to Treason

Those who should have been guarding the Treasure

Found falling to sleep and lost to their Pleasure

What ever the Reason is, does not really Matter

I just gotta work at finding my Joy, not get Sadder

Because the World I'm livin' in, is determined by Me

If I learn to get a few things right, someone else might See

I don't know the Reason

I climb my favorite Mountain, inside Me

It's only from there, that I can Clearly See

It's only there, that I feel what is Real

And it will be There, that my Fate I'll Seal
