I Could

Imagining speaking to my Children an important lesson. Many times they may think I don't care, but they need to learn for themselves.

I could make you Turn my Way 

I could help you with what you Say

I could steer you from the Danger

I could try to curb your Anger

I could protect you from the Storm

I could give you everything from when you're Born

I could not allow you to get Hurt

I could always give you a blanket when you say Burr

I could disguise it, so you never See

I could bind you that you are never Free

I could carry everything you have ever Had

I could make you happy and not allow Sad

But don't you See I'm smarter than That

If I did it all you would never know where it's At

You must learn to do for You my darling Child 

And when you're older you'll see why I'm Mild
