The North: (My Rebirth, My Return)

The North: (My Rebirth, My Return)

A Poem by Healing Star
"

My return North, further west, but still North, was familiar. The grasses, the soils, the air, the waters, the trees all spoke to Me.

"

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

Seeing familiar Plants
Feeling the weather Change
Like waking in a Dream
That's just been Rearranged

Move to the South
Transplanted when still Growing
I was Interrupted
Within my movement Flowing

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

Familiar sights and Sounds
That have stuck with Me
All of the Surrounds
And comes to hold me Sweet

No mention of my Father
For he has left this Place
No sign of my Mother
She's gone without a Trace

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

The Mystery of Me
Continues to Live On
Open my eyes in the Morning
My Heart is growing Strong

I walk down by the River
I take a little Drink
My toes begin to Shiver
It starts my mind to Think

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

About those days gone By
Lost in a Morning Fog
When I was the Child Shy
I was sitting there upon a Log

The skies opened Up
And they screamed to Me
You gotta find your way Back
And come and Live with Me

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

My fear sets In
As I begin to Gaze
So many Hearts to Win
Could this just be a Phase

But these waters Clear
They come so strong to Speak
Don't be ruled by Fear
Realize you are no longer Weak

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

And in that moment I
Could see it all so Clear
No more questions Why
My Soul became the Mirror

I then knew my Heart
Just what I had to Do
To make a whole new Start
And become the Blessed Few

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

To return to the waters Edge
Walk into the Forest Deep
Take that step off the Ledge
Find how deep these roots do Creep

To be the Child of this Nature
That I have always Been
It doesn't matter how Mature
I am that Child Again

In the North
I was born and Raised
When I Return
I'm back on the Page

North but further West, it is still North, it is still Familiar, it is still sweet Air, it is still clear waters, refreshing, the mighty Forest, and the hills replaced by Mountains, that sing to me, ancient lands replaced by new flows of lava in relative terms, the White Pine of Michigan, replaced by the Ponderosa Pine of Oregon, The Great Lake Superior, replaced by the Ocean in the North Pacific Coast, it will be my Home one Day, it told me it would be my Home one day, I will breathe it's Heavenly Air, my Hair will be blown by its breeze, I take a Knee, I take a Knee, thankful for this Mystery, thankful for this Mystery. I will walk upon her shore, write my dreams in her Sand, I will go to her Forest and ride her Rivers of her Land, I do understand, I do understand.

About
I am a man who has finally realized he needs to write down what matters to him, that I might learn from myself, what is important, what I value. To capture who I am now, for that is all we have is no.. more..
