Mama's Cries

She's with them now, and my Heart, it begins to Heal.

I heard my Mama crying in the Night

She was so restless without the Light 

I heard how they chased her In her Dreams

It about pulled my Heart apart at the Seams

I heard my Mama's cries most every Night

It was so hard, was I doing what was Right

I went to her side from far Away

Because my Brother, he was taken, couldn't Stay

Then about my Daddy, I got the News

Now what my darling are you ever going to Do

Couldn't talk about it, it just hurt too Much

And that pain, there is just no one who could Touch

So I went not knowing what to Do

I went just to see if something I might Do

I tried to hold her up, but the weight to Big

But then I saw her strength and me breaking like a Twig

So big her Heart, so much love to Give

She still found a way to teach me how to Live

What could I do but turn and walk Away

No she never came to beg me to Stay
