Sacred Canyon

Sacred Canyon

A Poem by Healing Star
"

A place waiting for us to go.

"

I travel into the Sacred Canyon
Where the walls paint the History of my People
As I enter in a flock of birds take Wing
And the moon rises and to my heart Sings

I connect with the water that is flowing Down
I connect with the walls for centuries they've Stood
The wind blowing down gently kisses my Face
As I begin my journey the canyon gives me her Grace

While within her walls I'll be protected until the Morning
The Elk and the Bear will stand and watch while I Move
On my way up the trail I begin gathering the Wood
For it will be by the Fire that the story will come and Understood

I connect with the tree who stands since my people were Free
I connect with the stones who have been washed by the Waters
The mists of the evening sky fall down upon my shoulders to bless Me
I make my way along the river with the moon glistening off her to See

My heart trembles to think of all that might come to meet me Here
For this is the night I have intended to find my being Within
And as the dawn approaches and I feel I have not seen it all Yet
A whisper comes to me from the wind through the trees, don't Fret

For my passing from the child to the one who holds himself Up
Has come through this night no longer leaning on others for a Lift
In your intention was all that you needed, all has come to you this Night
And forever now you will walk straight with a Heart filled with Delight

About
I am a man who has finally realized he needs to write down what matters to him, that I might learn from myself, what is important, what I value. To capture who I am now, for that is all we have is no.. more..
