Holding OutA Poem by Healing StarI made it seem like I did not get my wife hardly anything. She filled this monster stocking for me, and she gave me heck. It was hard to hold out to the end. They have all gone Home The silence settles In This is where I use to feel Sad But now my wholeness found Within I enjoy this time with me Now No need to worry where they've Gone The day flew by, it was so full of Joy As I take this time to look back On Nothing could have made today any Better Everything went just as Planned I saw it all working, she thought I had no thought of Her I could see it all building, inside my fire Fanned It started with the Stone, that was oh so Blue She knew then there had been a thought or Two So the day eased up and I made it to the End With a call I cried out we need another walk Too For I could see the ending, that the smile I'd Win All were amazed, how did that gift get There She wondered if nothing would be hers Again I told them that Santa dropped it from the Air They asked how long the thing had been in the Pond I said three weeks if not a little Longer They laughed and they grinned, but a little they did Wonder Then in a minute their laugh got a little Stronger She looked down a smile came to her Face As I handed her the paddle, she reached Out Then I had won, held out to the End I found true surprise in her eye, there was no Doubt
