My wife lost her very dear sister.

One moment you are here
In the next you are not
One day we are making plans
And the next they are for naught

Why is this so strange
Why is it so hard to accept
So difficult this pain
Since learning I have not slept

As the embers of our yesterdays go out
And the stories of our tomorrows won't be
My heart sadly wants to know why, it shouts
Why does this life feel so strange to me

My heart is lost in sorrow
My mind confused by all my questions
My days are filled with woe
How do I live with this, is my intention

I must remember the pain you were in
I must remember the disease all it stole
With all you went through it was time to end
With this all behind you, you're restored whole

I will feel you in the nighttime when all is quiet
I will see you in my daughters loving eyes
I will walk the pathways with you in silence
I will hold our memories dear and see you in the skies

I will remember you always my dear sweet sister
I will sleep with your memories in my heart and mind
I will learn to walk with this shadow of missing her
You were a great example for me to learn to be kind

As the days go by
And I learn not to cry
May I learn from this to see
What is really important for me

You have returned to the love that waits us all
I am thankful you went at home in quiet resting
I am thankful I had time with you before this call
I am thankful you are free it is a blessing
