At the bookstoreA Poem by Gee BeeI was inspired to write after meeting up with one of my good friends at a local bookstore. Just something quite fluffy. I think.
At the comics section
I caught my breath After running around with superheroes and saving damsels-in-distress when you called me "I'm at the bookstore," I say And I went back to Gotham to beat up more bad guys I leaped to the biographies reading about Anne Frank and businessmen and successful guys in sharp ties When I spotted a tuft of black at the fiction section sea There he goes, I think to myself I flee to the classics asking for help from Socrates and Sophocles Should I call out to you? Should I stay mum? Should I tell you I love you? And yet you disappeared yet again into the Minotaur's lair Playing hide and seek among seas of books and prying eyes I wonder How do I make you stay? And as if by fate At my favorite section There you are Holding up my favorite book "I win," you say Anything can happen, I say when you're in the bookstore
