ResurrectionA Poem by Shashank SinhaEvery morning i open my eyes A mission stands failed, Death, which hugged me in my dreams Has left me now betrayed I lock the door to later learn That nobody cares to knock, coz' i have been locked from outside too For a lesson to be taught You can hear me hum a childhood rhyme Or a whisper for a prayer, But the silent shouts my heart cries out Reach no one to my despair So i close my eyes yet again And i begin a transition phase, I call it my parallel world No wonderful have I known a place Those of you who yet couldn't guess These are my memories, No plethora though, but a handful still They put me out of my miseries A faint smile now turned upside down For this moment i never yearn, To be expelled from my kingdom of past Being told i must return I come back to my dismayed state And to my wonder what i see, Demons I drew on the walls last night Are smiling down on me My prayers answered, they rose to life And announced my judgement day, I lay low quiet on the floor My soul slowly drifts away Time flied by, just a spirit now Who wanders endlessly, As a prisoner, I once lived Never got the chance to flee * * * * * * * * This day i died, a decade ago So i travel to my old man's place, But to no wonder, what i see It's one of his happiest days There's a one more place I've got to go And that's my lonely grave, But little I expect to see someone Since none i ever craved But to my shock I am taken aback When i see a childhood pal of mine, No better gift could be bestowed upon me By the mighty sands of time A tear rolls, from his wet eyes A tear rolls from mine, Foggy memories he's recalling i think When we played and the days were fine Well now he's gone and so will I For he broke my gloomy shackles, You are not alone and some one cares Have faith and win this battle.
