Cancer

Cancer

A Poem by Gert Diedericks
"

Dedicated to my brother, diagnosed with cancer

"

Twisted mind in ever rapier speech,

adroitly towards void in understanding.

Impediment to grasp,

perpetual swaying state of mind.

Will you forgive the silence?

Tuck of war in belief;

unrequited will.

Tempering paradox:

acceptance of Divine plan

in letting go.

Free-falling into the wake of fate.

Youthful brown marble eyes;

guardian to core, fearlessly joyful;

kindred support and love.

Will you embrace the pain?

Relentless fire;

unquenched, beneath your flesh.

Anchored at cancer’s grope.

An elusive companion,

no friend and still interwoven as one;

space absorbed; inward house.

Stitched, bonded to gland;

fibre permanence.

When you can forgive the silence,

when you can bear the pain,

in the middle of night and

when you call the thunder

that gallops toward

your frightened plight.

Not knowing when it will end

or when wings of light will set you free,

then allow those brown marble eyes

to shower you with laughter,

the abundance of love and the joy

been given to live such graceful life!

In Creator’s hand you are hold

through blood unite and by Light

expand beyond the

realms of earthly expression.
