That wanton fire

That wanton fire

A Poem by Gerry Legister
"

There is something like fire burning in my soul

"

Victory in prayer, morning noon and night,
Clear lingering doubts filling the atmosphere,
A torch which bears the greatest revere light,
Penetrate darkness with absolute power.

Prayer does much more than commune with God,
Take shadow of vain things and make them diminish,
Prayer increases the little faith layman and laity clad,
Pride is abandon and the presence of God cherish.

Tears flow deep wash praise in sweet and sour mouth,
Down the labyrinth tunnel this joy saturate,
Open wide mercy gate; with God’s splendor cry out,
Supplication makes a forgiving place in our heart.

For those we cannot see the rapport agony meet,
Mediate between places we may never know,
Prayer discover the key trailing heaven’s light,
That wanton fire in our soul tunes the starry glow.
