On a haunting trail

On a haunting trail

A Poem by Gerry Legister
"

Memories of the past comes to haunt us

"

You will not find my phantom there

Stopping off near with time to watch,

Your shadow filling up the atmosphere,

With ambiance leaving a dark patch.

The only trace of me you may find

Are the promises we failed to keep,

Broken dreams; I see them all the time,

appearance of restless noise in my sleep.

The sound I hear brooding on the trail,

Uneasy spooks that needs answering,

Half stopping between shadows and real

Fear of living on the darkest evening.

This overwhelming chill of spontaneous pain,

Seems like the time we were together,

And the memories keeps coming back again,

On a haunting trail through the timely air.

The thermal carries everything of you to me,

Aromas and fleetly reflections in between,

On the ground staring into foggy eternity,

Regrets present a thousand things surrounding.
