After you have goneA Poem by Gerry Legisterwhen the emotions we once held go cold, we begin to feel completely empty insideAfter you have gone,
I go abandon to my rescue, To a place of
refuge in my swollen mind, I roam in
torn mantle, grieving with falling dew, To wash away
the remaining perfume.
After you have gone far from my body and soul, Is the
portion of my being you had own, After you,
those infernal desires you control, Will be
dormant and become cold as stone.
But the
memories of you torments with insanity, To go and
come, and turn wool white in the shadows, Of night,
then count the day; pleading to stay, In thoughts
and trance, the illusions paradox shows.
Hung on the
abyss of senses, make time goes slow, And after you
went, the energy of life was spent, And rent the
high veil we hail, torn with sorrow, Fleeing with
the piercing arrow fate had sent.
I wanted to
come after you, and leave with ease, To join the
perilous vale and catch our dreams, In the place
where images emerge and tease, The roads
crossed and shouting turns to screams.
You are the
reason of my strife, for after you, I will hide
in the silent vale and slowly count, The bitter
pain, incline to rent the mantle in two, And leave
insanity to give some account.
