A Look of Love

A Look of Love

A Poem by Gerry Legister
"

Heartfelt romance that takes us into the flames of emotions, the feelings that we treasure and the pleasures that they give, makes the hearts yearn to be loved

"

In a better land dreaming of a Polish woman,
The loveliest place where I became strong,
Sublime smiles through the scars still worn,
She became the greatest treasure in my hand.

A hundred joys her art in history has known,
Hide the mystery of thousands more to come,
The Fine balance where happiness belong,
Reflective thoughts proclaim the just one.

I have liken my old shadow to a luckless man,
To sleep without dreams; until they are born,
When bright hopes rise with desire for a woman,
It touches darkness and a flame kindles the dream.

Whose heart will beat in hope to love her man?
Whose time and chance not yet come along?
Finding the right soul to seek joys unknown,
When every opportunity avails seems wrong.

Along came dreams of a woman to share my bed,
Bright eyes shining with the moon in her dream,
Force a tightening spell into the back of my head,
And the reasons she gave burn as Olympic flame.

A hundred times with the best moments of life,
To share the love she always wanted to give,
This keeps me waiting where beauty is rife,
Live the dream with the women of Sabre.
