Kashieca; the first mermaid

Castiel was a young lady that lived by the sea. She was beautiful and brave and lived the rest of her adult life as an orphan. She was running errands one day when all of a sudden, she spotted a sea cow washed ashore. She ran to its side and found out that its wound immobilized the poor creature. Fearing for its life, she tended to its wound and then decided to build a shade and a puddle next to it to keep it away from the burning heat of the sun.

At sunset, the darkness caved in. She heard a frail voice coming from the shed. “Thank you for helping me, Castiel!" Startled and in denial, she rushed by the shed to see who was talking. “Who are you? "Where did you come from?" "How did you know my name?” She blurted out. She was confused and in awe; as she came face to face with the most handsome man she had ever seen. "I am Shimeru, god of the sea.” Smiling as he was extending his hand for a handshake. She took his hand and shook it. Blushing, she shyly said. “Pleased to meet you, Shimeru!" “I prefer, you called me Shim. That would make it sound like a human,” he added. "Nice to meet you, Shim!” she smiled while pulling her hand away. "Thanks! that sounds much better.” as he smiled back. “You must be hungry! Let me go and get dinner,” she said as she hurriedly left. Shimeru helped; they both enjoyed a good meal.

Shimeru came to visit her each night. She would wake up each morning, surprised with the freshest seafood. He would leave her with lobster, crabs, tuna, and all the delicious delicacies she never thought she could ever have. They became the closest friends and eventually became a couple. The small island has become their home as they welcomed a new family member.

The night was different from the rest of the nights, as Castiel battled with her unbearable labor pains. Shimeru was by her side, trying to calm her down. The dawn came, as the baby did. It was a healthy and beautiful baby girl. "We will call her Kashieca!” Castiel said; as she watched Shimeru lovingly cradle their daughter. It was such a sweet and beautiful sight, that she felt a lump in her throat. “Yes, My Love! That is what we will call her. She is just as beautiful as you." Smiling, he kissed their daughter on the forehead.

His smile faded as soon as he got sight of Castiel. He slowly laid their daughter on her crib and rushed to her side. “Castiel, wake up! wake up!” He cried. But she was no longer responding. “Please, do not leave us. Our daughter needs you!" Shimeru said, in between sobs. Unfortunately, Castiel has not recovered from severe blood loss. She peacefully passed away, leaving their newborn daughter to Shimeru.

“You are my first and my last love. You are my one great love, Castiel.” He said his last goodbye as they left her grave. Shimeru held their daughter in his arms. “The sun will rise soon. We need to go, Kashieca”

Her legs transform into fins. Shimeru walked towards the shore and became the sea cow that he was. Over time, they visited her grave by sunset and left before sunrise, transforming from sea creatures to their human images. There they were; Shimeru, the sea cow, and Kashieca, the first mermaid.
