A Mistake

A Mistake

A Poem by george knox
"

love lost, decisions in life changing so much...

"

A Mistake

Touching you
sharing oneness
with the elements
moving in time
to gentle rhythms
 of October rains

Misty windows
obscure autumn trees
 their beautiful colours
 melting on a canvass
of  cool
 blue waters

It was so right
loving you

Autumn died
winter dawned
bringing frosts
withering, freezing
 delicate feelings

and you were gone

Memories of you
haunt me
how I long
for Autumn afternoons
feeling you
close to me

Whatever your season
summer or spring
I want you to know
what we had
was so much more

than a mistake.
