Goodbye to a Friend

This is the second poem i wrote after my mother in law passed.

I will never forget that rainy day i lost someone so dear to me. My thoughts drifted back to years gone by where smiles abound of happier times.

I lost a mother, a friend so dear remembering times as i shed a tear.
She asked me once why i cried and screamed. Telling her i had a bad dream of losing her in a time of need.

She imparted to me a thought i keep, that she really is here each day while we sleep.
Close your eyes and remember, she said with much glee that i will always be here watching over you, you see.

I will never be gone from your heart so dont cry. Forever i am with you even after i die.
