Our love will save usA Poem by generic twatWritten about my girlfriend and I. I'd really like some feedback on this please, not the best but I'm tired Her eyes meet mine A gorgeous mixture of blue, green and grey but she looks away and I think I know why If she doesn't I may see the sadness in her eyes so they betray her Her smile tells me that all is fine and well and the smile will stay but her eyes speak quite the contrary. Between the cold winter mornings and the crying fits at night it's stuck there As if wearing a mask and behind it she's crying lying to the world around her and it fools some but not me not me because I can tell a real smile from a lie because I can see it in her eyes but I'm the only one who can see But she pretends I don't know so I play along for a while But the act gets tiring and I must speak what's on my mind because what's on my mind is her Although my thoughts are in a blur and they don't make a lot of sense I speak up "Are you okay, beautiful?" I know the answer shall be a lie but I try because I must I get an answer so old it's rust she says "I'm fine" A dreaded two word sentence because it's an easier way of saying "I'm not okay" "I'm tired, I'm sad and I'm broken" and I'm sorry I don't do enough to save you because I know it feels like you're drowning but you can swim if you try I promise as the tide creeps up on us we will keep each other afloat because there's no need for anyone else and we'll decline the offer of a boat because our love will save us. But at the same time, our love could kill us. © 2013 generic twat |

I like punk rock, cigarettes and alcohol and I'm the least likely person to write but whatever. Po.. more..Writing
