Quvenzhané: I'll wear pink to the GlobesA Story by gemmaducaQuvenzhané Wallis has already got her sights set on an outfit for the Golden Globes - a pink, sparkly one. Quvenzhané Wallis will be wearing a "pink, sparkly" outfit to the Golden Globe Awards.
The 11-year-old actress earned a nomination for next year's ceremony for her
role in the upcoming remake of musical Annie.
And despite the awards not taking place until next February, Quvenzhané admits she has already got her sights set on a potential ensemble to wear. Asked what she's planning to sport on the red carpet, Quvenzhané told Access Hollywood: "Pink, sparkles, pink and sparkles. I love sparkles and I love pink!" But the young starlet, who also has an Oscar nomination to her name, has some tough competition if she is to take home the Globe. In fact, she will have to beat Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Helen Mirren and Julianne Moore to win the prize. "It feels like a great opportunity that I'm only 11 and some of them are 20, 30 around that age," Quvenzhané said. "It's really awesome that I get to be nominated with some of the greatest women in film." The talented youngster also revealed she thinks she is deserving of the nomination, because taking on the role of Annie took more than just acting skills. "This is something that we worked on really hard, we did a lot of singing and dancing and acting lessons," she said. One person missing from the Globe nominations was Angelina Jolie, who had been widely tipped to be recognised in the category. However, Quvenzhané refused to be drawn as to Angelina's absence from the nominations. "I have no comment on that, but I have one comment, that I do love Maleficent," she said. Annie is due for release on December 19th. © 2014 gemmaduca |
