Past Persuasions

Past Persuasions

A Poem by Azrael
"

Dark storms rage within

seeded by a life of loss

The eternal silent scream

of a ghost in the shell

The demon of little deaths

haunts the corridors of the mind

Fueled dissensions of the past

give wind to present day angst

You can't peel off old scars

past is a part of the whole

They steer the sails of choice

influence the ever present now

The guidance of life's lessons

from a teacher they call Pain

Pavlovian in it's repetitive nature

learned acceptance to the way of things

there are no silver linings and unless happiness is shared it is a shallow thing.  life's lessons unlearned. how satisfying is your contentment when your neighbor weeps.
