Trap

Trap

A Poem by Holly

Pain.

It's unbearable.

It's unthinkable.

It's uncontrollable

It's unreasonable.

It's all I have and always will.

For reasons I feel shattered.

My heart is something you can kill.

Because in the end, my happiness never mattered.

I'm in denial.

I'm actually glad.

No I haven't felt happiness in a while.

All this was is just more reasons to be sad.

Forget every thing.

I want my heart back.

Did you understand?

It's a true fact.

I'm giving a big demand.

Listen to me.

Don't plug your ears.

I fell into a trap, a big sea.

And I believed everything I hear.

In the end

I feel broken.

Only pain.

When no words were spoken

My heart is something you can't mend.

And my eyes, can you see me crying in the pouring rain?

Evocative work-- I liked the spoken word quality and the "real time" effect you created. Well done!

This was sad but very powerful. A strong, profound display of emotion coming right off the page at the reader.
