I've always had a problem with the idea that to be a poet you have to suffer from huge character flaws. You have to be an alcoholic, or drug addic, have a nasty, curmudgeon streak, hate all authority, and complain about everyththing... Those are NOT necessary, but they do tend to make some folks get all juicy with their creative streak...
