PlutoA Chapter by Kenneth The Poet
Neptune only lives
in the outer reaches of the solar system. Pluto demoted, downgraded into some kind of revolving rock. A dark mass floating lonely and silently as comet detritus. The underworld king, bored, angry, solitary, apt connotation. This is the human connotation as well, lost and alone out there. Enigmas we are, stone heads on Easter Island awaiting answers. We are star pieces, and the natural forces went to work from there. Yet, those strong forces are unkind, indifferent and can be quite cruel. Offspring are nurtured into a maturity that is named evil. Able to be good, because evolution did not pull us under. Under fully that is, yet we remember the bad before the good. Love coexists with hate, as Uranus lives with Neptune way out there. Among sister worlds, we are not alone because the porridge is fine. Just right, as the girl Goldilocks said right before the three bears came home. But life eludes our telescopic powers of observance always. So we remain by ourselves, alone floating out there like cosmic dust. Our delusions are simply nothing, just like the surface of Pluto. © 2012 Kenneth The PoetReviews
