Never Over

Never Over

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the culture of fear blares
over the speaker,

but that is not the fear
that tears him so,

it's the fear that
death will occur
to one so young,

the one to come,

pre-term,

surfactant injection,

biliribun overload,

skin like rice paper,

little being in a plastic box,

an interstellar traveler
artificially warmed
and wearing glasses
from the Back to the Future
rubbish heap,

part two that is,

of course,

the protective shell
called mother would easily run
the whole race, but the universe
or God or Mother Nature or
what have you had other plans,

and we have to accept and adjust,

just plain up evolve,

evolve emotionally,

evolve physically,

evolve whether or not
their is or their is not
a culture of fear,

and to answer their question,

it's not over,

never over until its over

i agree that we should be evolving instead of focusing too much on our mortality. we should live our lives and let the universe does what it does, and when it's our time we won't be in such fear of it. great poem.

Quite often when I read your verse, I come to the conclusion that your style is best suited to large political issues of various fronts of activism, what do you make of that assessement?

evolve whether or not
their is or their is not
a culture of fear,

This part packs a huge between the lines interpretation, multi-layered.
It's a wonder, the fragility of the mind and body, yet it survives, maybe it has something to do with a soul.... sad we never get to consciously know.

You are developing quite an effective pace and rhythm to your prose, it's getting stronger and stronger with each piece.

'evolution' is defined by 'survival of the fit', emotional, physical, whatever; in our human regard we have sacrificed 'fit' for the sake of customers
