Cold Meltdown

Cold Meltdown

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the offspring of
the cold meltdown,

poets in their own right,

poets in their own time,

scrawling deep meaning
on the papyrus tablets
and the bathroom walls
of today, here and now,

hoping to light the way
all-chalice style
so the acolytes of
tomorrow can learn
from that wisdom brought
on by the experiences
and the blunders of the
cold meltdown offspring,

but the world is crashing
around everybody, at least
in the comfortable culture
that birthed the
cold meltdown generation,

no longer numero uno,

no longer the big dog running,

and maybe that's the lesson
that the offspring of the
cold meltdown offspring
will have to learn in ways
both hard and soft,

change is the
old constant,
after all.

Here's hoping that future generations will read, and learn, and understand that which came before them. A wonderful, thought-provoking write.
