In-Laws

In-Laws

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet
"

A Christmas poem about family.

"
Sipping vanilla from the cup,
not in terms of originality,
but in terms of flavor,
full-bodied, enriching flavor.
a gift from a brother-in-law
who is beyond helpful and
beyond caring,

a family of in-laws
that are not outlaws,

helping the disadvantaged
in times of need
even when the older
members are suffering,

a family of humanists
wrapped in the Christian
wool, the modern version
minus the Old Testament
clerical astigmatism,

these are good people,

these are ethical people,

this is the other family,

his other family,

the reason for the
season in his mind,

togetherness with them
as he snaps open and
closed the new wallet
made of aluminum,
so the terrorists
won't get access
to his credit card
information.

and now, Vince Guaraldi
shall entertain us with
his wonderful jazz music.

merry christmahanakwanzika and festivus too!

A nice holiday write about the in-laws. Thanks for the verse about giving to the disadvantaged when the older generation is suffering. So very true and so many times forgotten. Keep writing.

Can't say I've ever seen in-laws being that...un-in-law-like.

Oh, and smooth end, chief.

Can't say I've met such people, even! Good write, good people.
