Nothing ValueA Chapter by Kenneth The Poet
Atheism is
Nihilism, equal parts in a death sentence. A number sentence that terrifies the theist into submission. An irony of hilarity since they are of immortal mind. Hellish afterlife breeds a nihilism all its own, a weird kind. Eternal divide, a sulfurous stew of s**t, a sadist's wet dream. While black holes and bursts of gamma radiation fades us into black. A somber nothing of an existence, pointless turns around the sun. No external god, no granite moral code and a few solid facts. Nothing has value, nothing is the core value, it is the right one. Rejecting gods means rejecting divine commands as mindless fiction. At the same time, we love our survival and our multiplication. Moral fictions or not, we have reason'd ourselves into moral codes. We are a thriving and thrifty species, the kind that survives it all. Atheism and Nihilism can inspire moral apathy, and a fortitude that pushes forth moral health, wealth, even wisdom. Atheism and Nihilism are not parts of a death sentence. The nothing value inspires a something value, something full of hope. © 2011 Kenneth The Poet |
