Critical Thinking

Critical Thinking

A Chapter by Kenneth The Poet

Deceptive art form,
matchstick men making money,
maximizing vice.

The Long Con based on
Murphy and Ponzi, men who
understood the false.

These truths underlie
the innovations behind
critical thinking.

This skill set must be
taught to people because we
are gullible beasts.

Many mothers will
not vaccinate their kids due
to celebrities

making their voices
heard, even though they have long
tongues made of silver.

From conspiracy
theories to alternative
therapies, the lies

can be easily
ingested like a lemon-
water cancer cure.

It is the human
nature to trust the claims when
outsiders want in.

We love the in-group
and we hate the out-group. which
helps them accept us.

Our nature is one
that is social, that craves some
association

to something that is
similar to the agent
under scrutiny.

But there are beings
that promote a base level
of skepticism

and for demanding
proof when the claims are really
outside our senses.

They follow that norm,
the Promethean ideal,
to its rightful end.

We should thrive on our
virtue, and not our vice. We
can do that with ease.

So think critic'ly
now for the betterment of
all humanity.

Critical thinking encounters a strange pair of bed-fellows called good and evil. To say its a mere perspective is to overlook its long roots of relations to its creative possibilities. Its true that within freedom lies a great many things that enables us to know better without restriction, but to sieve through the many issues like a giant jigsaw, takes one more quality in the human, compassion. It is so deep in our psyche that most would suspect it is also a part of the elements that created us.
