Wisdom Tooth

Wisdom Tooth

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

In southeastern Arizona is the moment of zen
Or wherever else your mind and body is then

Follow your heart with a tenacity unrivaled
Just make sure it doesn't threaten your survival

Some people spend their entire lives on meaning
Searching and finding the ultimate personal cleaning

Some find it somewhere in their own hometown
Some traverse oceans to find the guru renowned

It really is an existential discourse opened wide
And the worlds of opinion explode as they collide

Be it through sanctified union or random encounter
And with silence and violence, all these relations flounder

All because individuality and unity are not compatible
And smashing rationality makes it so regrettable

Logic is flawed because it's used to posit God
Verifiably and falsifiably induced, the proof is flawed

But the emotions seem to underlie the zealous discourse
And the motivation could be to convert by sudden force

Maybe so and maybe not, the verdict's not in yet
Las Vegas, Tunica, those towns wouldn't take the bet

The terms are defined but the chatter is circular
No matter how much we mask the vernacular

Sartre made the best point of all: it's all on you
You make the choice, for one and all, out of the blue

Or after rational examination after some duration
Point is, you may receive at last your elation

Wherever you are, find your single, solid truth
Then you'll feel clean like a painless wisdom tooth

. with the chaos that is going on in my nation today ... it's extremely insightful for me to read these words ... don't know if "individuality and unity are not compatible" ... shall be thinking about it ... and maybe i'll stumble upon my "single, solid truth" ...
