I definitely hear echos of Ed's work here; I think you captured his essence well! What more can I say that Ed and OT hadn't? With that I leave you with just a simple comment that I liked this very much!
This poem screams the truth, we are all just kids on the inside, no matter if we're 23, 57, or 89 we're all just kids for we never mature on the inside. I love this poem!
we never mature in the sense of 'arriving', but we age all the way until we don't...mostly we just rot on the shelf...and, as you demonstrate, some of us become right fine poets...thanks, Kenneth
Ed Hart is indeed the master of brevity and most things poetic! ha quite the undertaking! "we age, but never mature" is a line I could imagine reading from Ed's quill of insight - this is a great write Kenneth! nice!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........it's a thinker for me, cuz I'm a bit concrete. I like it! Now if I can figure out what it means. Seems like we grow and age perhaps, wanting to shed our youthful ? skin, but can never attain wisdom.
