Here At Now

Here At Now

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

The prayer is said, the rejection of humanism
But the petitioner suffers with mental rheumatism

The chronic queries of circular argumentation
Just cycle after cycle of argument-refutation

Spiritual warfare presents itself as surrealism
It is a contradiction bounded inside materialism

But elemental creatures know nothing of what's beyond
We are surely shortsighted, singing an arrogant song

Does the universe really demand an explanation?
Our view is quite minute from our unfixed location

Maybe a God is necessary to explain away the gaps
And maybe the skeptics will close their collective traps

But that won't happen at this moment, the fight goes on
From here at now until the day that is our final dawn

Get the ducks lined up, ready now the apologetic
The battle continues and the soldiers don't regret it

Soooo true! And how many times do we not listen to ourselves. Strong write indeed.

"We are surely shortsighted, singing an arrogant song" I absolutely love this write. It is very thought provoking and immensely prophetic. "until the day that is our final dawn" Very nicely done.
