For You, AmenA Poem by Kenneth The Poet
Risen Savior, come to our aid
Heal the afflicted and the plagued The legions of followers are in mourning Give them strength to see the next morning Let the light come through and shine on the world Let your kindness and forgiveness be unfurled Passed on is the man who once directed Let another true believer be elected Enrich the Earth with humility and joy Let their be peace between every girl and boy We leave the strife at your feet With your angels, we will defeat The powers of Hell that rage at the gate Led by a deceiver who only knows hate On this plane, he was the greatest man To you, he was one of many working the plan For you, Lord Jesus, we fight the good fight It consumes us every single day and night Someday, we will stand inside your house Strong as a lion, not meek as a mouse United we stand, but divided we stumble Without you, our constitutions totally crumble You’ve existed from the start, you’re the first You know how to bring us back from the worst I can scratch onward about how you’re great Your excellence will never ever dissipate By your will, for this time I’ll drop my pen I will drop to my knees to pray again The post of pontiff will soon be filled Let all the policies be what you willed May all be focused on you, eyes of laymen We leave this verse for you, Amen © 2011 Kenneth The PoetAuthor's Note
