In Aquilae Cura

In Aquilae Cura

A Chapter by Kenneth The Poet

The claws extending,
the wings flapping, a power
unrivaled in flight.

The mighty eagle
asserting hegemony
whatever the cost.

Always the highest
and always the very best,
stated without fear.

From the battle at
Trenton to the turnaround
inside Tennessee,

The eagle's power
and majesty remain on
the constant target.

The target known as
liberty, the kind that gives
you the right to choose.

To choose your poison,
to choose your own career, to
choose your own dwelling.

Tyranny, the foe
immortal to liberty,
is a bird of prey.

A bird of prey, a
predator awaiting the
chance to eat your choice.

It may be an owl,
a hawk, or an eagle with
divergent colors.

The white head and the
yellow beak are the symbols
that eyes should, must see.

But, hegemony
must be checked and must be
balanced rightly.

The eagle makes claims
and defends them with great force,
but it reigns fairly.

It digests rodents
that carry germs through all the
wide ecosystem.

The disease is and
will always be tyranny,
a dictator's rule.

But the eagle is
not a dictator, but a
presiding steward.

Ready to say these
words, In Aquilae Cura,
Under Eagle's Care!
