Free Radical

Free Radical

A Chapter by Kenneth The Poet

Disbelief must have
been implemented back in
ancient Greece. Thinking

outside the box was
their forte. One man's queries
about disordered

existence sprouted
a revolt at untested
mores, norms and values.

A platonic child
spoke openly on ethics
outside of God's reach.

Is ethics free of
any theistic bounds or
hindrance from beyond?

The question has not
been fully clear'd. This shows us
the limitations

of human knowing.
Radical plodding along
has put us on course

for progress or for
regress. Divining the time
from this point onward

is a skill not known
to work, and it defies the
definition of

disbelief. Yet, some
folks still practice those art forms
against the wind, the

grain of the newly
established scientific,
ivory elite.

Two effete elites
battling over minute
details that affect

the relevance of
their status, power and pay
grade. On cue, we, the

groundlings, start biting,
fighting like jaded lovers
over hope and faith.

For what reason? For
what purpose, you may wonder.
Why fight since we are

social, rational
bound by routine and logic?
Blame it on free will

and our nurturing,
which defines our legacy
and experience.
