A Blaze Of Glory

A Blaze Of Glory

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

Silently floating among his brothers
A ghost unseen by all of the others

Noticed for his material prominence
Unnoticed for the internal insolence

Trying to rework the mechanics
By exerting mental gymnastics

Trying to rewind the fraying cord
By excising the mass with a sword

Trying to beat the depression
By a simple power of suggestion

But all this effort is endless regression
A foreshadowing to a funeral procession

Why all this speculation about the motives?
They shouldn't even be lighting the votives!

They can guess all they want, but it's the void
He was a piece of detritus to be destroyed

It's that simple, it's the unblemished truth
A waste of life, a replaceable baby tooth

Going down in a self-serving, sadistic blaze of glory
Just a typical footnote in the wretched human story

I'm sensing this is about suicide and depression.

"It's that simple, it's the unblemished truth
A waste of life, a replaceable baby tooth."
