Waterbuster

Waterbuster

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

The visionary had a startling dream
And she awoke with a twinkle, with a gleam

A group of elders gathered in the lodge
The message: the water would leave Dodge

The thunder and the lightning will crack and shine
And down will come those man-made confines

Above Bainville and above Mandan town
All the blank faces will be watered down

Peck, Garrison, Oahe, Fort Randall, Gavins Point
The land is again baptized, an indigenous anoint

Then, the world levels like a conference room table
Thus starts the ultimate end to the ultimate fable

Monuments built to the blank-faced enlightened
Crumble down, the blank faces all frightened

Such is the punishment for being two-sided
The blank-faced power structure forever divided

The blank-faced legacy is forever derided
And this unnecessary fight is forever decided

In the favor of the indigenous folk
Still chained to the proverbial yoke

Of stereotype and unfair stance
Given this vision, they have a chance

The blank faces are slowly realizing
What all the first folks have been despising

Time to join forces to tear down that wall
And all other social boundaries will surely fall

By a combined haymaker, a cranial duster
Thanks to a vision given to a Waterbuster
