A Warning Lamentable

A Warning Lamentable

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet
"

What is this about, I wonder.

"
The sound, that sonic dog whistle
alerts them, calls those
who've turned on, who've tuned in
and who've dropped out
of normal society
of the regularly scheduled programming

We interrupt your couch-potato lifestyle
to report that the chosen ones
have vanished from the mainstream
have been sneaked away
to the place of promise, milk and honey

Atomically speaking
Here then, gone the next

And the world mourns, scorns and forlorns
As the seals crack
As the bowls spill
As the horns blast

Heptagonal is each judgmental shape
and heptagonal is the shape of time,
be it metaphorical, be it literal
but the souls that translated
are free of the trials expected

Such is the nature
and consequence
of choice and free will
