For Cassidy JoyA Poem by Kenneth The PoetA girl committed suicide in the next county due to bullying and it made national news. This is dedication to a girl I didn't know.
The tragedy emerged beyond the bounds of Griggs County
The heartaches and tears are plentiful, a thriving bounty
Thousands of people sending forth digital sympathy cards Even though those on the inside must pick up the shards
Her name was Cassidy Joy, and she was bullied to death And why she was taunted and tortured is anyone's guess
And in the school systems, it still happens under our nose In the digitally-enhanced, dog-eat-dog world, anything goes
There are no boundaries, the ethics do not yet exist Even though our bullying natures still seem to persist
But we can make the choice to keep the beast in check So we don't create another hopeless soul who's a wreck
Her name was Cassidy Joy, she'll always be remembered As an eternal flame of hope, a happily glowing ember
