Peace On Earth

Just another one of my patented series of couplets about the current (and almost eternal) state of humankind.

Double-tapped and fallen dead

One to the heart, one to the head

 

Evil being subtracted of grace

A red X now marks his face

 

A team of seals numbering six

Brought about the concluding fix

 

A boost for morale in eagle land

Almost a decade after their plan

 

Commenced and three thousand died

But the courier became team six's guide

 

Yet the political infighting is going

And conservative backlash is growing

 

So much for peace being on Earth

Just a quaint notion minus the worth

You made some good points in this poem. Each one could have a discussion. Six seals and a man in bed. I was a Soldier for 15 years. When a man raise his hand in "please don't blow my head off". We didn't. 3000 plus dead and President come for some reason? I gave up years ago trying to understand our government. Thank you for this poem. You touched on many interesting subjects.
