The Niche

The Niche

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet
"

For wordman

"
picking away on strings,
the grass grows blue
but the tales told mirror
the rainbow

and the niche, or the
concept of it, remains
vibrant, valid and a
vector pointed toward
the goodness the
species can project

and goodness told through
the niche speaks in ways
rarely heard by many

the niche punches you,
punches your brothers
and sisters with a
force that leaves
an emotional mark
deep, wide and impassible

one that transcends
the fiction of logical
fallacy, of morality,
of politics and religion

the niche speaks to a
higher cause, to a morality
full of love, understanding
and coexistence

the niche may point to
a real things or a
useful fiction, but
the results wrought
benefit the masses
as a whole

the niche speaks to
a specific audience

the niche represents
the contemporary,
the past and what
is yet to come

the niche has a way
and a will, the means
to a madness that is
both individual and
utilitarian

the niche is good

so the strings keep picking away,
the ivory keys keep getting tickled,
the freestylers jive to samples old
and beats new and the emotional
rainbow keeps being through all
these prisms and the niche keeps
giving us the way to the light within

the niche is the candle
defeating the darkness

may it always be so
