Momentarily

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

it's warm outside and
we are listening to the
Smashing Pumpkins,
arguably their most
famous song
three days left and
the metaphor has come to life
twelve youngsters are
listening but not listening,
just like the youth usually do
when they are disinterested

but the Pumpkins are from
the nineties and they
weren't even around when
the towers fell

so take a picture of this moment
because this will never happen again
despite it being filtered by a mind
subject to decay and dementia

and it's warm outside right now
and now they run free because
the warden has opened the campus

so let them be free and
let the scribe make his mark
like a fine Kentucky bourbon

that moment, it's all over now
but it's not the last time
because moments like these
will return momentarily

Ah yes ... that was my second guess ... you know me .. I preferred when Corgan got all melodic:)
You make the words flow with a rhythm like the music, and they grow warmer with each line, each step closer to that last day. Hoping this is a time of deep joy for you. Thank you for sharing the brilliant moment.
