Power Cord

Power Cord

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

try reading Nietzsche without getting bored
strangle yourself not with a will to power cord

an artistic critic undermining morality
try to start it all over, in totality

but despite the century of inhumanity
most of the world kept their sanity

at least in terms of Christ's subset
the core of it all was never upset

the atheism of the continent never took
the strange Western cousin saw the hook

even with its hypocritical personality
the Christian ethos informed the duality

the American atheist says otherwise
but the religion won, no compromise

the godless thought it would naturally die
but that ideal was mesospheric high

at the same time, the old world still had God
the state edified Him no matter how flawed

so the evangelist's narrative is broken
yet the new atheism hasn't awoken

like the old atheism of before
Jesus broke down that knob-less door

so Nietzsche remains rather obscure
and the supernatural still endures

I don't think Friedrich is boring, but he will drive you to the brink of insanity, some of his views are way over the top, but then he'll turn around and make perfect sense....one of my favorite quotes belongs to him...

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

A powerful piece of poetry...
