A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

dogs passed out on the davenport and
cookies and caramel corn expand the waistline
and coffee spiked with fake-nog fuels the pen
to write on and fill the blanks within

poets have their philosophies just like the ones
who lived centuries ago such as Stirner and Bakunin
and like Chomsky and Molyneux have now

Stirner and Bakunin had only the media
of the pen and paper and the printing press
to deliver their news and views to the masses

Chomsky had the likes of
Brinkley, Buckley and Huntley
on the public airwaves
to bring his news and views
forth to the masses

Molyneux is on the digital frontier,
the Internet and the onslaught of
digital videography at a plebian level
allowed him to take his news and views
to the masses

of course, the old methods of pen and paper
might still be the way to do business if and
when the great electromagnetic pulse sets all
the digital clocks back to the stone age,
back to zero

yet, the analog methods are still here and
are still preferred by certain members of this
rather backward existence

some younger ones prefer typewriters and manual transmissions
and the slide rule and the abacus and the compass and
the straightedge and plethora of real graph paper

we have the concept of zero, we have indoor plumbing,
we have single-switch coffee makers and plastic toys
that are well-constructed and still viable all these
decades later

the dogs may sleep on the davenport
and the children may sleep in the playpen
and the human need to conquer the empty spaces
with pertinent and impertinent news and views
may always be at the forefront
but the time to ruminate and reflects on past
experiences and moments may be something
humankind might never get back

Kenneth The Poet
The negative flurry has passed for now hopefully. A bit more upbeat on this fine Christmas day.

~ those days, we can never go back, but atleast we can always move forward to a better future. In this piece I could see that life in the past takes a lot of effort in doing so, now a days its much more easy, much more a bit relax and technologies makes it so. It is like easy life, easy gain. Many prefer this or that, and many crave for the unnecessary. Indeed that yesterday is not as the same as today, but we do make the most of it to the fullest. Very nice piece, it is nice to have read you again mr. Ken, my friend... thanks for sharing this.
